The truffle of the future is built on shared knowledge. That’s why we belong to the industry’s associations and work with forest research.
PROTOCAT, the Catalan Truffle Growers’ Association
PROTOCAT brings together truffle growers in Catalonia: it coordinates the purchase of quality plants and mycorrhization testing, interprets soil analyses, advises plantations and represents the industry. It has agreements with the CTFC and the University of Lleida.
Dídac Espasa, of Tòfona de la Conca, is its vice-president.

We work closely with CTFC researchers, such as Dr. Daniel Oliach, on research into truffle cultivation: climate change, irrigation, agroforestry models and new plantations.
